We will leave it to Christine, of Christine Wills Photography, to introduce this styled shoot set at a private residence in Alberta, since she does it so perfectly!

Today's styled shoot features Eastern bridal looks created by Lyana Gibert of The Art of Beauty in Calgary, Alberta. Lyana brought together a talented team to showcase Pakistani bridal fashion here in Canada and may we just say; she is one talented artist! But don't take our word for it, see for yourself:

A bright pop of color on the lip was the perfect choice by The Art of Beauty to compliment the striking dupatta and lehenga

From Lyana: Few cultures have weddings as extravagant as the people of Pakistan do. Not only are their weddings carried out over 4 days with lavish feasts and parties, (including the now very trendy henna (mehndi) party) but we also see some of the most beautiful and vibrant fashion, as well as unique styling for hair and makeup.

" Inspiration for this event came from my 4-yr old daughter. Being a huge Frozen fan, she was in love with snow princesses! She dreamed of meeting a real snow princess someday. "

Snow Princess Bride

Styling, production, photography and narration by Jenny Vandersteen, Mill Canyon Photography - Pincher Creek, AB.

At the same time I always hated winter, but thought that the winter offered some of the most beautiful photo opps, and infrequently saw many winter weddings. Doing summer weddings year after year, I wanted to create something different. I chose the model because I loved her look- both beautiful classically, as well as a bit edgy, with the brown/purple/red hair. I loved the contrast created with her hair and the snow, along with her gorgeous eyes, I thought she would make the perfect winter bride.

Gorgeous Pnina Tournai wedding gown

What a trooper! Kassidy Czerniak poised & gorgeous in the sub-zero Alberta winter conditions!

We own a beautifully, scenic ranch, which was the perfect backdrop for this shoot. I do not work in a studio. I do all of my photography outdoors, on our ranch. It offers unique, amazing spots, from beautiful mountain vistas, to secluded forest trails, flower-filled meadows to old vintage vehicles, tall hay fields, steep rocky cliffs, and stunning streams and ponds. Not to mention all the wildlife! (bears, cougars, elk, deer, fish, eagles, songbirds, moose..)

The gorgeous winter fur-lined cape

Living in the heart of the southwest Alberta Rockies, winter is a big part of our year. I wanted to create a beautiful inspiration to brides to consider the majesty and uniqueness of winter weddings. I started gathering ideas of inspiration for this shoot, selected my ideal model, designed the headpieces & bouquets, found the perfect gown, and the best hair & make-up artist. Everyone involved was from the local area, which I loved as well!

Last week, we shared part-one or our two-part editorial with Blush Bridal and Coco Events & Weddings, and we are very excited to reveal the rest of this gorgeous story! Part-one revealed a playful and feminine side to Rosa Clará and Soft by Rosa Clará; two of the newest additions to Vancouver's Blush Bridal.

In part-two, the impressive juxtaposition of this editiorial is revealed; illuminating an entirely new, dramatic side to Rosa Clará. Lara Taylor, of Vancouver-based Coco Events & Weddings, led the creative direction for the editorial and shares the inspiration behind it:

"Inspired by our travels in the East, and our years living in Southeast Asia, we were energized by the myriad of textures and colors in the décor used for celebrations, and in places of worship. We were captivated by the use of rich, strong, metallic, jewel tones and weighted fabrics; contrasted against light and delicate florals, folded papers, and lights.

This shoot was meant to portray the emotions and feelings brought about by two opposing elements. In part one, the paper floral wall created an intricate and whimsical canvas for portraying the delight and playfulness evoked by the anticipation surrounding one's wedding, that one magical day. In part two, the rose gold metallic wall acted as a bold contrast; showing elegance and expressing an intrinsic thread of tradition."

We wanted to have a fabulous, inspiring start to the new year, and decided that the perfect way to do just that, was to debut part one of our two-part editorial with Blush Bridal and Coco Events & Weddings.

Joni Kim, of Charles Stuart International Models, is wearing the 'Sabia' gown by Soft by Rosa Clará.

Rosa Clará and Soft by Rosa Clará are two new (& gorgeous!) bridal lines that Blush Bridal introduced to Vancouver brides this past year and here at Bride.Canada, we are thrilled to help Blush formally debut the lines. Based in Spain, Rosa Clará gowns standout for their high quality fabrics and precision tailoring. Best of all, Rosa Clará offers something for everyone; whether it be a soft and romantic lace dress, a vintage-inspired beaded sheath, or a refined and elegant ballgown.

Lara Taylor, founder & co-owner of Vancouver-based Coco Events & Weddings, expertly produced both the set design and styling for our editorial. Every consideration was taken when choosing the elements that would best portray all sides of Rosa Clará. The inspiration behind the editorial is best told by Lara:

"This shoot was meant to portray the emotions and feelings brought about by two opposing elements. In part one, the paper floral wall created an intricate and whimsical canvas for portraying the delight and playfulness evoked by the anticipation surrounding one's wedding, that one magical day. In part two..." (sorry, you will have to wait until part two to find out the rest!)

We hope you enjoy part one; be sure to click on the photos for larger views and full image credits!

Melissa Johnstone of Sugar & Soul Photography brings us this sweet, fairy tale inspired winter styled photoshoot, set in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Loosely inspired by the Brothers Grimm tale of Hansel & Gretel, this editorial embodies all of the fun and festive possibilities of the holidays.

We will leave the rest of the tale to Melissa, who tells it the very best:

"Heidi and Markus embark on a journey to get married on a magical winter day in the forest. Leaving breadcrumb trails behind them, (in case they get lost!), they discover a witches hut decorated in candy. They say their vows amidst an archway of candy, then head into the hut for their whimsical reception - complete with snow globes, pretzels, and lots of holiday treats and warmth by the fire!"

Summer bride in floral crown

Bridal portrait sessions, before and especially after the wedding, are becoming quite popular. Quite simply, as our photographer here (Matthew Addington at Foster & Asher) put it:

We love these portrait sessions because they give us extra time to capture the beauty of the bride. Often times we suggest to our brides that they consider a bridal portrait session AFTER they marriage. We have found that our brides are often much more comfortable during these shoots after the wedding.

Summer bride in flower crown

We chose Irvington Spring Farm in Central, VA as our location for this shoot partially because of the beautiful early morning light, but mostly because of the gorgeous hand-manicured flower farm they maintain.
