Model wearing Maggie Sottero Tamsyn, a trumpet wedding dress with silver beading

Maggie Sottero 'Tamsyn'

Real Bride Review: I am planning on having a beautiful, timeless wedding in the garden of a historic mansion in London, ON. I have always loved lace designs with beading and sparkle which is why this dress really surprised me. As my future mother in law put it, this dress exudes "that Grace Kelly Look" of timeless elegance and intricate detailing. I am 5'9" and relatively slim. For someone with a similar figure, this dress is jaw dropping. The intricate beadwork is absolutely gorgeous and for those wanting a slightly more dramatic, mermaid shape, a crinoline could easily be added underneath.

I tried the dress on in Champagne and was very surprised to see how well it flattered my fair skin tone. I ultimately decided on the Adalee by Maggie Sottero as I had always envisioned myself in lace and wanted something slightly more dramatic, but it was a very tough choice. I highly recommend this dress to any brides having a Gatsby or Old Hollywood themed wedding. Paired with a pearl accented veil, this dress is a total knockout. -Melissa L.

Model wearing Maggie Sottero Savannah Marie, beaded trumpet gown with low back.

Real Bride Review: Wedding style: fun, party atmosphere for 150 guests.

What I was looking for in a dress: something different and glamorous, that highlighted my figure without being over-the-top or too sexy.

Overall impression of the dress: This dress was absolutely perfect. It was the first dress I tried on, and none of the others could come. It is beautiful gown, covered in gorgeous lace and beading, with a flattering body skimming fit. The illusion back is stunning.

My body type and how gown fit: hourglass body type, so dress fit well and was very flattering. Slip is very body skimming, but the lace overlay adds glamour, while also preventing the dress from looking too clingy.

Favourite dress details: loved the lace and beading, especially the train and the illusion back. Dress is very light, and train isn't too long, making it very easy to move in.

What did and did not work for me: I fell in love with this dress as soon as I tried it on, and it is the one I purchased. The fit is gorgeous, the details of the lace and beading on the dress are breathtaking, and the dress is the perfect combo of glamour, elegance, beauty, and sexy. The only detail I am changing, is getting the gold slip underneath, to flatter my skin tone more, and having the neckline of the slip taken up to give a little less cleavage. -Karen C.

Model wearing Sottero and Midgley Paula. Lace trumpet dress with soft layers and matching veil.

Sottero & Midgely 'Paula'

Real Bride Review: As soon as I tried on the Paula gown I knew it was the one! It had everything I wanted in a dress - lace, comfortable to wear and lots of sparkle. It was 3 dimensional guipure floral lace applique with little crystals and sequin embellishment in each floral applique. It has pewter metallic embroidery and it just sparkles.I ordered in ivory/pewter and it is a very light ivory with silvery accents. There is a layer of tulle in the train that is embroidered with sequins and when it catches the light it just shimmers.

It is the most unique and beautiful dress that I had tried on. It is very light and comfortable and has a sweetheart neckline and is a slim fit and flare which is very flattering and creates curves even if you don't have any. Some women would pass this dress up because they are concerned about the 3D applique but try it on because it is just so beautiful and unique.

There is an optional matching veil that would be perfect if you are looking for a very dramatic veil with lace applique. Overall it is a stunning dress if you are looking for a romantic lace gown with that bling factor that is also very light and comfortable. I can't wait to wear it! -Alicia H.

Model wearing Maggie Sottero Delores. Modified Aline dress with beaded appliques.

Maggie Sottero 'Delores'

Real Bride Review: Our wedding is in late spring 2015 and we are expecting around 100 of our loved ones to attend. Our venue is located in a gorgeous rural setting filled with natural beauty, including flower gardens. To fit our rustic venue, I very much wanted to find a lace wedding dress with floral accents, and to add a bit of a kick, I knew I wanted to sparkle from head to toe.

I fell in love with the Delores dress by Maggie Sottero online before my first dress appointment and told several people this was my dress beforehand. As soon as I tried on Delores, after trying on many other dresses that were close but not quite right, I knew it was the one. The rich texture of the dress, with the lace, beading and floral appliqués, fit the venue perfectly, and the sparkly sequins provided the pizzazz I was looking for in my dress. I particularly loved the Swarovski crystal belt, which accentuates the waist and is very flattering to the figure while adding the perfect amount of dazzle to the dress.

Before dress shopping, I tended to favour dresses with fuller skirts as I am a pear shape, but my family and friends encouraged me to pick a more fitted dress to highlight my curves. Delores, with a modified A-line silhouette, was the perfect compromise, with a hip-hugging shape that flows into a lovely fun skirt lined with gorgeous flowery accents.

The feel of a dress is almost as important to me as the look because I plan to dance the night away. Delores feels relatively light and the dress flows and moves beautifully. I am certain this dress will be more than comfortable enough for my entire wedding day. After sleeping on it and trying Delores on once more at a second appointment, I ordered the dress and I have not looked back since! -Katie L.
