"Creating magic from the moment the gown is tried on..." ~ MaggieSottero.com
Amongst the sea of strapless, simple, and most of all safe styles we've seen so far from other wedding dress designers, Maggie Sottero's 2010 collection stands out with its award-winning originality. It's not just the fact that some of Sottero's wedding gowns are available in sexy shades of scarlet, or feature frilly, high neck couture collars. It's the eclectic range of styles, fabrics, and cuts within the 2010 Sottero collection that makes it both cutting-edge and creative.
While some other designers hide behind a signature style which allows them to be slack creatively, Sottero's signature style seems to be whatever the modern bride wants. From black lace embroidery, to crisp three-quarter length jackets, to sleek A-line skirts, the following styles are just a sample of Sottero's stunning 2010 selection.

The "Pamela Royale" is one of Sottero's more cutting-edge couture designs, with its high collar/halter neck combo. The stunning Godavari Silk fabric features Asymmetrical ruching and a wrapped waist, which is gathered at the side with an exquisite beaded motif. A view from the back reveals more beading around the button/loop fastener of the gown, which is available in diamond white, ivory, and light gold.

The "Halle" isn't the only red wedding gown in Maggie Sottero's collection, but it's definitely one of the most exquisite. The beaded lace motif with Swarofski crystals is definitely the focal point of the gown, drawing the eye to the center of the empire waist. Pleating at the bust line creates the appearance of a fuller chest, while the slim A-line skirt in de-lustered satin is the perfect picture of sophistication. A dazzling broach design at the lower skirt catches the eye as the bride turns around, and gently gathers the gown's train. In addition to scarlet red, the "Halle" is also available in all white as well as ivory with pewter accent.

For the bride who loves a bit of black accenting, the "Anne Marie" features floral lace and Swarovski crystal beading at the bust and skirt hem. A beautiful black satin bow ties at the side of the gown's empire waist, while the A-line skirt trails down to the perfectly pretty scalloped lace pattern. In addition to white with black accenting, the Anne Marie is also available in all white and all diamond white.

Perfect for a winter wedding, the "Meryl"'s strapless sweetheart neckline contrasts nicely with the (optional) three-quarter length satin jacket shown above. The intricately beaded bodice gives way to an A-line skirt in Soft Shimmer Satin, while a view from the back reveals the gown's lace-up corset and bow with cascading ribbons. Shown here in Alabaster, the Meryl is also available in white, diamond white, and pearl.

From Sottero's "Destinations" line comes this ultra-feminine sheath-style design for 2010, featuring embellished lace on the bodice and beading on the train of the Vogue Satin skirt. Delicate details such as sparkling beads on the shoulder straps and beaded satin empire waist band are especially romantic additions. This gown (style no. SD5204) is available in all white, or diamond white with pewter accent.
