Located at the bottom end of Yew St, the Marine Dr Golf Club is a perfect quietly upscale wedding ceremony and reception venue, near Kerrisdale. The club itself was established over 75 years ago and despite being one of the most exclusive in the Lower Mainland, it retains the "Players Club" mantle to this day.

Ceremony Location and Services

Being a short drive out of the city centre, hidden "below" SW Marine, not too many people realise the scope of the club's banquet facilities. If the summer, the patio in front of the main reception hall makes a great outdoor ceremony location, overlooking the beautiful golf course. Too, a mid-week or mid-morning rehearsal is included, as are registry signing facilities and all the set-up costs.

Ceremonies are normally held after 5pm, right before the reception, allowing your guests to simply stroll inside for pre-dinner drinks, while you are comfortably shooting your photos on the gorgeous course greens. Or if you're planning on getting in a quick round before your vows this gives you ample time for nine holes at least. For more details, remember the name "Adriana". Reception: The Impressive Ballroom and View

The Main Ballroom is where the receptions are held. It can accommodate up to 300 cocktail or 200 seated guests (160 with a dance floor) in a private, intimate and inviting format, opening right onto the patio, overlooking the course.

The entranceway is quite impressive on its own. In fact, the double oak doors would probably work well as a backdrop for a photo or two. Up the mahogany staircase and into the main ballroom on the Mezzanine level the view out over the course is a great feature, as are the large picture windows. There is a sense of heritage here since the club is getting up towards a century and you certainly get this from the entranceway. But the size of the ballroom means its very practical and easy to alter to your taste. On a fine evening with a great sunset you'll even get a faint glow over the venue, the perfect time for vows or speeches.

Food and Beverage

In-house catering is all provided as part of any wedding reception package so everything will be taken care of and you don't need to worry. Executive Chef - Kelly Para has an impressively diverse selection of different catering and flavour options available for you and can even take care of the dessert. But luckily you're not required to use a cake from Marine Dr, so you can bring your own masterpiece instead :-)

Also, the wine list is quite varied and does have something for everyone. The Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc is our pick of the whites, while it's hard to pass up a half glass of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin for toasting. Consider saving money too by having signature cocktails served for your guests.
